This supplement helps control livestock, protects environmental features and manage habitats on difficult sites.

Where you can use this supplement

You can use this item with the agreement of Natural England or the Forestry Commission in combination with either:

FG1: Fencing

FG2: Sheep netting

FG3: Permanent electric fencing

FG7: Anti-predator combination fencing

FG8: Anti-predator temporary electric fencing

FG9: Deer fencing

You can also use in a Higher Tier capital grant in combination with:

FG7: Anti-predator combination fencing

FG8: Anti-predator temporary electric fencing

FG9: Deer fencing

You can also use in a Woodland Tree Health Grant in combination with either:

FG1: Fencing

FG2: Sheep netting

FG9: Deer fencing

TE5: Supplement for use of individual tree-shelters (with the agreement of the Forestry Commission)

What you must do to use this supplement

You must:

• agree a specification for the works with Natural England or the Forestry Commission
• complete the works in the agreed specification to the relevant standard and timescale

Your adviser will adapt the requirements for this item to your site. You should discuss and agree these requirements with them.

Evidence you must keep

You must keep photographs of the completed work and provide with your claim.

You must also keep and provide on request:

• any consents or permissions connected with the work
• receipted invoices or bank statements where a receipted invoice is unavailable
• photographs of the existing site before work starts

Use this supplement if the site you’re going to fence:

• is remote
• cannot be accessed by vehicles
• is on steep slopes
• is prone to flooding or waterlogged for large parts of the year
• needs a lot of ground preparation
