Establish and maintain legumes like clover, sainfoin, or lucerne on improved grassland, either by adding to an existing sward or sowing a new mix. Existing legume areas can be used if they meet the requirements and are not already funded under another scheme option like CS GS4.

If the action is static, you must establish the legumes within the first 12 months and maintain them for the subsequent years. If rotational, the action must be carried out each year for a duration sufficient to meet its aim.
