Manage grassland with very low nutrient inputs by limiting manure or fertiliser application and managing grazing or cutting to produce a varied sward with flowering grasses and wildflowers.

Minimise nutrient inputs to no more than 12 tonnes/ha of cattle farmyard manure or equivalent. Graze or cut the grassland to achieve the aim of a varied sward, while maintaining an intact sward and minimising bare ground. A number of activities are prohibited, including applying digestates, ploughing, drainage works, and applying pesticides except for specific spot treatments.

This action must be carried out every year for the 3-year duration of the agreement.
