January was a big month for JustFarm. We spent the holidays listening to feedback from early users, and we came back ready to build.
The most common request? "I've uploaded my agreement, but how do I actually prove I'm doing the work?" Farmers and agents wanted a way to capture evidence as they go, not scramble to find it at inspection time. So that's exactly what we built.
We also heard that the agreement upload process needed to be clearer. What's happening behind the scenes? Why does it take a moment? We've made the whole flow more transparent, with real-time updates so you always know what's going on.
Here's everything we shipped in January 2025.
📸 Evidence Upload
What it does
You can now upload evidence directly against your SFI actions. Take a photo in the field, add a note explaining what you did, and attach it to the relevant action and parcels. Photos, documents, GPS data: it all gets stored securely and linked to the right place.
Why it matters for farmers
When the RPA comes knocking, you need to prove you've done what you said you'd do. Digging through camera rolls and filing cabinets at the last minute is stressful and risky. With evidence uploads, you build your compliance record as you work. By the time inspection comes around, everything is already organised and ready.

Agents managing multiple client farms need visibility into whether evidence is being collected. With uploads tied to specific actions and parcels, you can quickly see which farms are on track and which need a nudge.

🤖 AI-Powered Agreement Extraction
What it does
When you upload your SFI agreement PDF, our system now uses AI to extract the key details automatically. Actions, parcels, payment rates, timing requirements: it reads the document and pulls out what matters, then links everything to your land parcel map.
Why it matters for farmers
SFI agreements are not designed to be user-friendly. They're PDFs packed with tables, codes, and jargon. Working out which actions apply to which parcels means cross-referencing multiple pages. Our AI does that work in seconds, giving you a clear, visual breakdown of your commitments.

What it does
Click any parcel on the map and see everything about it in one place. Land cover types, area measurements, which actions apply, and any evidence you've uploaded. All the information you need without leaving the map view.

Understanding your land is the foundation of good SFI planning. The parcel details panel gives you instant access to the data that matters: what's registered, what's eligible, and what you've committed to.

When you're on a call with a client asking "what's the story with parcel AB1234?", you need answers fast. One click and you've got the full picture.

📋 Action Details Panel
What it does
Every SFI action now has its own details panel. See what the action requires, which parcels it applies to, what evidence you've uploaded, and whether you're on track for compliance.
Why it matters for farmers
SFI actions come with rules. Timing windows, specific activities, record-keeping requirements. The action details panel puts all that information in one place so you know exactly what's expected.
Why it matters for agents
Advising clients on compliance means understanding the detail. The action panel gives you a quick reference for what each action involves, without digging through RPA guidance documents.

🏡 Farm Management Improvements
What it does
You can now update your farm details, edit parcel names, and delete farms you no longer manage. Small quality-of-life improvements that make the platform easier to use day to day.
Why it matters
Real farms change. Fields get renamed. Holdings get sold. Your compliance platform should keep up with reality. These updates give you more control over your data.
The benefit
Keep your farm records accurate without contacting support.
🔔 Notifications
What it does
Actions now give you instant feedback. Upload evidence? You'll see a confirmation. Agreement processing complete? A notification pops up. Errors? You'll know right away.
Why it matters
Nobody likes clicking a button and wondering if anything happened. Toast notifications keep you informed at every step, so you always know the system is working.

What's Coming Next
February will bring more features focused on making evidence collection even easier and giving agents better tools to manage multiple farms. We're also working on compliance dashboards so you can see at a glance where you stand.
