This Countryside Stewardship option protects historic and archaeological features from damaging cultivation practices by establishing a continuous grass or flower mixture, which also helps reduce diffuse pollution and soil erosion. It is available on Scheduled Monuments and other identified historic features, requiring specific management and prohibiting activities like ploughing or harrowing.

- Maintain a continuous grass and/or flower mixture over the historic and archaeological feature throughout the year.
- Do not plough on earthwork sites when establishing mixtures.
- Do not harrow or roll.
- Do not supplementary feed within 6m of the option area.
- Do not allow scrub or bracken growth on the option area.
- Do not carry out drainage works, including modifying existing drainage, without written permission before work starts.
- Do not locate vehicle or stock access routes within 6 metres (m) of the feature (existing surfaced tracks can be used).
